What is “Lifestyle” Photography?

We consider ourselves Lifestyle Photographers for a few reasons: we shoot in as much natural light as possible, and we like to shoot in real life settings.  Life unscripted!  This means on location, or at your home..typically outside!  It is important to us to try to create a little time capsule with your images and we think the best memories also come attached to an emotion.  When we can incorporate your favorite locations, and things you use in your everyday, they help us tell your story.

What are your fees?

Where should we have our photo session?

I come to you!  We can have your photo session on location or at your home.  We can talk though some ideas together and come up with a location that best tells your story.  And, if you cannot think of any place in particular, we are happy to suggest some fun spots. For sessions with kids it is often comfortable for them if we select a space they are familiar with. We can incorporate their world into the photographs.

What is the best time of day for photo sessions?

We love to shoot when there is the best light outside, and that is typically one or two hours before sunset.  This time may vary depending on the season.  Spring and Summer sessions mean around 6:30pm, or Fall and Winter sessions mean more like 5pm.

Do you take studio portraits?

We do not. So sorry!

What should we wear to our photo session?

This is a very good question.  We suggest that you wear something comfortable, something you feel good in, and fun!  Maybe not so much matchy-matchy but complementary. You may notice that photographers ask groups not to wear all black and white.  We do this because sometimes these colors highlight lint, dog fur, or spills.  Instead, maybe select a color family and coordinate that way, or use the season for inspiration.  We suggest you avoid displaying name brands, or all wearing bold patterns.

What should I (that’s you) expect during our shoot?

Each photo session will be 1-2 hours depending on the option you choose (weddings of course will be longer).  We predetermine where to meet and many of the details, but each session is also wide open for inspiration!  We cover a series of poses, but really strive for honest creativity in simple and familiar settings.  I am always looking for moments in-between moments.  Expect to laugh, lots of kisses, and a comfortable atmosphere.  We realize that not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera, but we know that you are comfortable with the ones you love and we draw on that during our time together!  My goal is to make YOU feel good and feel confident, and to just have fun!

How do we order prints?

All images will be shown on an online gallery.  For your convenience those images are also available for ordering off of that site.  I am always available for ordering consultations.

Are you available to travel?

We are available to travel!  However, we do charge travel for sessions outside of the North Atlanta area.  We will not charge for the time, only federal mileage or rooming fees.

Do you offer any discounts?

We do offer a 15% discount on all session fees to those who serve in the military.  Thank you for your service to our country!
