Alpharetta Dog Photography | Loving Hands Animal Clinic | Charlie

A few weeks ago I was a part of a very sneaky, but very fun, secret photo session for Dr. Roesner of Loving Hands Animal Clinic!  Dr. Roesner and her staff at Loving Hands Animal Clinic in Alpharetta, GA are amazing and take great care of our Atlanta Lab Rescue dogs.  It was fun to treat her dog Charlie to his own dog photography session!  While Dr. Roesner was tucked away in surgery we headed out to grab some portraits of Charlie…as you will see, this HANDSOME golden retriever did such a great job!  His personality is adorable, and he was easy to photograph.

I love a furry golden retriever in motion!  Charlie was having the time of is life playing with us and romping around in the yard.  This photo really captures his free spirit!

A special part of the session was getting some photos of Charlie with Kenzo.  Kenzo is an Atlanta Lab Rescue who was treated by Dr. Roesner.  He has had a couple hip surgeries, and we are SO thankful to Dr. Roesner for getting him back to tip-top shape!  You can see more of Kenzo in another recent post tracking through the fields of Cumming, GA!  It was fun to see these two together!

The staff at Loving Hands stepped out to join us for a few photos, thank you to them as well for always helping us!

Thank you CHARLIE!  And, thank you Dr. Roesner!  I hope that you enjoy your coffee table book with all the highlights of our time with Charlie for MANY years!

I am always up for a fun surprise photo session, they make great gifts of gratitude for your caregivers or for the holidays!  Email me today!

Atlanta Dog Photographer | Dazzle, Max, Riley, Kenzo, Momma, and Candy!

The best part of this amazing outdoor photography session was getting to do EXACTLY what these dogs love!  I spent the morning with an amazing group of labradors: Dazzle, Max, Riley, Kenzo, Momma, and Candy in Cumming, Georgia hiking and romping through the fields.  At first glance you may think that this may be a lot to handle, but the more time I spent with them the more I could understand how they love each other and enjoy each others company.  A few of these babies are Atlanta Lab Rescue foster dogs, and I will be using one of the photos from this session for our upcoming 2014 Calendar to benefit ALR!

You can tell on the faces of all of these dogs how much fun they are having!  Below you can see Candy and Momma, two peas in a very bog pod, chasing each other through the fields!  They have the best time together!

Candy (below) is an Atlanta Lab Rescue dog, who came into our program broken and scared.  She is now thriving in her foster home, and hoping to find her forever home soon…maybe someone who could take Momma as well, since these two are SUCH the pair!  I mean really, how can you resist this face?!?!  She has the neatest personality!

This next photo is what our time outdoors was all about…pure JOY…and laughing as they would disappear and then JUMP straight out of the brush!  Below you can see Candy and Riley doing just that!

Momma, or ‘Maizy’ on the Atlanta Lab Rescue site, is a beautiful girl living large in her foster home!  She is calm, sweet, and a great big sister to Candy.

Max might have come home with me, for at least a sleep-over, if Kelly would let him!  Max is a handsome boy who loves people and is such a loyal friend.  I am pretty sure Max leaves a special mark on each heart he meets!

Kenzo showing off his tracking skills!  To be the only chocolate amongst so many yellow beauties is not hard for Kenzo, I mean, look at him he’s stunning!  This handsome stud-muffin is another Atlanta Lab Rescue who has come so far since joining the team.  I cannot believe that he is recovering from hip surgery, he gets around so well!

Sweet Dazzle’s eyes will melt your heart!  She is soft, and kind, and quiet.  I was happy when she would come over and let me love on her!  You can see in her eye’s how happy she is!

After a long morning full of exercise and showing off for the camera it was time to settle in at home.  We still had a mission of getting our ‘cover shot’ for the calendar, but it was fun to get some photos of the crew resting.

Special thanks to Kelly and her pack for spending the morning with me!  Each time I fall in love with the dogs I photograph, and these dogs are very special to me now!  For more information on how to foster or adopt through Atlanta Lab Rescue please visit the website today!  Each of our dogs are amazing and so grateful to be in loving homes, they really will be the most loyal dogs you have ever had!

Cassie | Senior Dog Photographer :: Atlanta Lab Rescue

A few weeks ago, on my quest to create an awesome calendar for Atlanta Lab Rescue, I got to meet Cassie!  Cassie is a senior dog who is living out the rest of her life comfortable in the hands of an Atlanta Lab Rescue volunteer.  Thank God for volunteers like you!  This sweet girl is 15 years old and still going on walks twice a day.  She has two younger brothers to keep her busy, and a mama that gives her LOTS of love.

It was so fun getting to see how much personality still lives inside this sweet girl.  Just when I thought she was getting bored with me, she got a little silly…

I love the wisdom in the eyes of an old dog.  They are genuine, intelligent, and welcoming.  They make me think of the dogs I have loved in my life, and how sweet it is to care for one in old age.  They are our best friends, and how sweet it is to love a lab seasoned with life!

Cassie is still very loved by her owner, who is now living in an assisted living home.  I was happy to hear that she and Cassie got to visit not long ago!

Thanks to Cassie and her new mama for letting me come over and spend some time with you!  It was a true joy and an afternoon that I will remember. Please keep an eye out for our upcoming Atlanta Lab Rescue 2014 calendar, you will not want to miss the ALR “treat” we have for you!

Atlanta Lab Rescue Foster Dog | Koz

My heart goes out to all the rescue groups out there, Atlanta and surrounding areas…since I have been involved with Atlanta Lab Rescue I have only seen a small portion of the rescue world.  I have been in the midst of sad stories, joyous new beginnings, funny transport stories, and amazing ‘small world’ experiences.  I am pretty sure that all my friends think I am dog-crazy now, but I assure you, there is worse out there!  Ha-ha!

My little Koz is with another foster home this weekend and my heart is a little sad.  Sad because I totally vetted the last family that ‘adopted’ him.  I met them and spoke with them several times before I left Koz at their house last weekend.  I was NOT expecting their call on Sunday, at all, telling me they were not going to keep him.  They said he was showing signs or aggression, and I heard them out when they described the stories.  I cannot dismiss that how Koz was acting was aggressive.  However, I also stand with Koz because he sounded scared to me.  Like he did not have an advocate in that home, someone to teach him that he was safe and loved.  Part of that lesson is discipline, and the other half is love and affirmation.  I guess I am mostly sad that they did not want to take the time to invest in him.

We have had Koz in our home for 6 weeks now, and in the beginning I was ONLY taking them for the weekend.  Koz loves being a part of our family, but he also really needs his own family.  I am saying special prayers for this little guy today, and I wanted to share him with you all here just in case there was anyone reading who was looking for a little snuggle bug to add to their pack.  Koz is about 7 months old, he is a mid-sized lab mix, and he is SUPER chill.  Koz will not instigate play, but loves to play with other dogs, he is a fast learner and has already mastered the basics.  He is house-trainned, will sleep in the crate, but hates to be left in there during the day.  Koz loves to sleep in the dog bed with my dogs, and just likes being close.  He still has a lot to learn and would love to be in a home with another person who has the time to continue to train him.  I totally see Koz riding shot-gun with you around town, sleeping under your chair at the coffee shop, and playing with you in the park.  If anyone is interested, please email info@atlantalabrescue.com for more details.

***UPDATE*** Our little buddy has been adopted!!!  So thankful for his new home!
