Merry Christmas Y’all!

We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and we wish you all a Happy New Year! We were blessed to spend time with family and friends this holiday. I wanted to share a little bit of our last min. photo-op for our card…I think we picked the coldest morning of December!!! We would like to thank our tri-pod and camera for the photo, haha!

Atlanta Falcons “Shop With A Jock” – Tony Gonzalez Foundation

This week David and I had the opportunity to hang out with 50 kids from Atlanta Union Mission as well as several of the Atlanta Falcons football players.  The team members came together to shop with the kids for Christmas.  The kids each received Wal-Mart gift card and the company of a player.  It was such a blast watching the kids!  They were so excited, and had no idea when they arrived what was about to happen.  I am pretty sure that they were told they were going bowling or something…what a surprise to hang out with some professional football players instead!

Special thanks to Entertainers & Athletes Group | EAG Sports Management and please be sure to check out The Tony Gonzalez Foundation.

I love the image above, where Ovie Mughelli is hugging the two girls he went shopping with- at the end he suprised them with a new DVD players!  And this image below is also cute.  I love the HUGE size difference!

We wish all the kids and players a Merry Christmas! We were certainly blessed to be a part in such a fun event!  Hopefully we will be invited back again next year.

Holly - What a cool event! It is so great that you get to be a part of stuff like this.

Mistletoe, and holly…Roswell, GA Family Photography

Last weekend David and I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Hene family in Milton, GA.  We were so impressed with the location of their home- there were horses with riders just trotting down the street, a ton of open land, rolling hills, and a certain peace that you rarely get so close to the city.  We met Doug and Heather through our involvement with the North Fulton Young Life Committee, and were excited to meet their two sweet boys!  I loved watching the younger one follow in the steps of his older brother, you can tell he looks up to him a lot.  One other thing I love about these photos are the small accents of Christmas that you can catch in the photos: garland, tree lights, and red ribbons.  Tis’ the Season…

Brian & Kelly are Married!- Asheville Wedding Photographer- The Venue

I started my editing session tonight listening to the song ‘Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay.  There is something in that song that makes me think of a newly married couple, the new union, and the absolute devotion in vows.   I met Brian and Kelly in Asheville early this year, we sat and had a drink and chatted about their wedding plans and what they were looking for in a photographer.  I could tell when Brian started to tear up talking about Kelly and their upcoming wedding that his heart was truly devoted to her- that they were very much in love.

How fun it was to be back in Asheville for their wedding day!!!  We started the day out at L’eau de Vie Salon with all the ladies and made our way to Gaither Chapel in Black Mountain for the ceremony.  What a picture perfect day it was,  no sign of rain, not a chill in the air, and the leaves were still trying to hold some of their bright fall colors!

Many of us watch the groom with anticipation of the “first glance” at his bride.  Brian was so precious as he watched Kelly walk down the isle toward him.  He was overcome with emotion…I am pretty sure there was not a dry eye in the chapel.  Kelly looked absolutely amazing!

After we finished up in Black Mountain we headed for downtown Asheville.  We got some fun shots right in the middle of town and headed for The Venue.  The Venue is new to downtown, and also where they had their reception.  I must say, after attending weddings in Asheville, shooting weddings in Asheville, and even getting married there ourselves, this was an amazing space to have a reception!  The music was great, the food was amazing, and you could tell that everyone had a blast…it was hard to leave that party!

I thought this car was SO COOL!

I wish I had time to do a story on JUST the dance that Brian did for Kelly as he was getting that garter!  It was amazing, possibly the highlight of my night!  He sang to her, got that garter, and even danced his bride around the dance floor!  Way to go Brian, that was AMAZING!!! I think this expression sums it up…

Brian and Kelly thank you so much for having us at your wedding!  You two are an amazing couple and we could tell that you love each other well, and that you are also very loved by your family and friends.  We had an amazing time, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Brian - We are SO thrilled with these photos, and we cannot wait to see the rest! (Although I’m a little afraid to see the rest of the garter dance pics…) 🙂 You guys did an amazing job, thank you!! If anyone is checking out this blog because you might hire Alana and David for YOUR wedding…just save yourself the time and hassle. Book them now.

Sunkissed, and smitten…Atlanta, GA Family Photograhy

I am so excited to be a Photographer in Atlanta, GA!  The weather here is amazing, the sun is warm through fall, and despite all the rain we have had these past few weekends have been so beautiful!  I was excited to get outside and share the afternoon with such an energetic and fun family.  We played in the leaves, laughed a lot, and got some really special photos along the way.

We are expanding into family lifestyle photo shoots, and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite sessions!  There is something about capturing a time in life that does not last forever- something so sweet and special.  These memories store giggles, tears, curious looks, and snuggles in your heart.  I’m already thinking happy thoughts…

Whitney C. - What beautiful photos of a beautiful family! Great job, Alana!
