I started my editing session tonight listening to the song ‘Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay. There is something in that song that makes me think of a newly married couple, the new union, and the absolute devotion in vows. I met Brian and Kelly in Asheville early this year, we sat and had a drink and chatted about their wedding plans and what they were looking for in a photographer. I could tell when Brian started to tear up talking about Kelly and their upcoming wedding that his heart was truly devoted to her- that they were very much in love.
How fun it was to be back in Asheville for their wedding day!!! We started the day out at L’eau de Vie Salon with all the ladies and made our way to Gaither Chapel in Black Mountain for the ceremony. What a picture perfect day it was, no sign of rain, not a chill in the air, and the leaves were still trying to hold some of their bright fall colors!
Many of us watch the groom with anticipation of the “first glance” at his bride. Brian was so precious as he watched Kelly walk down the isle toward him. He was overcome with emotion…I am pretty sure there was not a dry eye in the chapel. Kelly looked absolutely amazing!
After we finished up in Black Mountain we headed for downtown Asheville. We got some fun shots right in the middle of town and headed for The Venue. The Venue is new to downtown, and also where they had their reception. I must say, after attending weddings in Asheville, shooting weddings in Asheville, and even getting married there ourselves, this was an amazing space to have a reception! The music was great, the food was amazing, and you could tell that everyone had a blast…it was hard to leave that party!
I thought this car was SO COOL!
I wish I had time to do a story on JUST the dance that Brian did for Kelly as he was getting that garter! It was amazing, possibly the highlight of my night! He sang to her, got that garter, and even danced his bride around the dance floor! Way to go Brian, that was AMAZING!!! I think this expression sums it up…
Brian and Kelly thank you so much for having us at your wedding! You two are an amazing couple and we could tell that you love each other well, and that you are also very loved by your family and friends. We had an amazing time, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
We are SO thrilled with these photos, and we cannot wait to see the rest! (Although I’m a little afraid to see the rest of the garter dance pics…) 🙂 You guys did an amazing job, thank you!!
