Newborn sessions are so near and dear to my season on life right now. I love the opportunity to meet clients at their homes to capture this sweet season for them as well! In April I was able to make it into the city, despite the 85 bridge collapse, to meet Kate and her parents. It was so fun to watch them connect and to meet her two little four-legged protectors. When dogs are included in any session we have a good time! Thank you to the Townsend family for allowing me to capture some memories for you! Yesterday I came out of maternity leave for a very special JOY session for Chopper, the handsome boxer you will meet in this post. I love that these are called JOY sessions because, as I said when I got home, it was fun. Fun for Chopper to have a car ride to the park, fun for the family to relax and take their mind off losing a dear friend, and fun to laugh and see Chopper feeling better in those moments. I began my journey as a pet photographer after losing my buddy Tess, and I can directly relate to a family or individual who has said goodbye to a pet whom has been by their side for many years. These sessions are about heirlooms for the family, and happy memories shared together one last time. Thank you to Shannon and Steve for seeking me out for this session, and thanks to Chopper for being so funny and allowing me a few great shots. You are such a sweet guy..jpg)

Family and pet photography has really been the greatest joy that I have had in my 10+ years of being a photographer. The friendly families, dogs, and super fun photography sessions that I have had are unmatched. I am so thankful for the network of clients and volunteer partners that have lead me to some amazing photo sessions like the one this past weekend! I loved getting to meet the Rhodes family! The weather had turned a little bit for us and we had some cooler “fall-like” temperatures, not to mention that some leaves were falling and it was a really nice afternoon. Bud, their adorable and excited yellow lab, had a blast checking out some new trails. And, it was just an overall good time. We got to capture some great photos of the family and showcase their baby BOY that is on the way!
