My first Throwback Thursday post is from May 2018 when I had the chance to do a family portrait session for our neighbors here in Roswell. Our parks are beautiful here most of the year, very green and lush, great locations for portraits. I know many of these images were used for Father’s Day gifts!

Something I love is including elements that really showcase time and place within the photos. Here we have a beloved stuffed animal or “Lovie” who helped us all throughout the session. I know they show up in home photos, but it is special to use Lovies, blankets, and other items that are special to kids throughout the session.

I know it is easy to make a session about the kids or your pets, but I always try to grab a few images of the parents together!

The age between 1 and 2 is pure magic, all the giggles and funny toddler antics. Also, all the sweet love and melt your heart kisses. So thankful to showcase sessions that I hope my clients will love for the rest of their lives!

Atlanta Maternity Portraits with Pets | Alexander Family

This past weekend I had the opportunity to meet my clients down at Piedmont Park in Atlanta for maternity portraits. And as an added bonus they brought their sweet doggies! It was so fun to capture some images for this family before they add a baby girl later this year.

So many photographers turn away clients when they mention adding dogs into the photos because they are not “pet photographers”. My dogs have always been so important and true members of our family, so it is my JOY to have these sessions! I totally encourage you to always add your pets when you can…they may help you relax during the session, and having them in photos during this season of life will be great memories down the road.

Roswell, GA Family and Pet Photographer | ABJ Photography

I am dusting off the cobwebs today! My poor blog has been sitting here collecting dust as I have focused most of my time and energy around raising our two kids. Somewhere along the way posting my photography sessions became less and less of a priority and spending more face to face time with the kids took over. Ok to be honest, it is not like I really gave myself a choice, I happily turned over my time to these precious kiddos!

Now at 4.5 and 2.5 I am able to sneak back over here and post some of the beautiful families, pets and precious newborns that I have had the honor to continue photographing. I am so thankful for the many clients who have allowed me into their homes year after year. I have really enjoyed watching them marry, add pets into their family sessions around Christmas, and then allow me to capture images of their sweet babies after they welcomed them home.

This past November, somewhere between Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, and my usual stacked weekends of photo sessions, my sister helped me take our Christmas card photo! I wanted to share them here for those who have been following my family as it has grown. My-my, how they have already changed!!

This Mama really should get her camera out more while hanging with the fam, but I am just like you…portrait-mode on my iPhone will have to do during this busy season of life!

Brookhaven Family Photographer | PJ is 1!

I love the Crowley Family! I have been able to capture some important life memories for them from wedding day, through newborn photos of their first child, and now his 1 year milestone!

I met them at their new home in Brookhaven for this session and it was the perfect spot to have fun playing in the yard. Toddlers provide constant entertainment and we all laughed as we watched and encouraged the smiles from PJ.
