Photo Gallery Walls and How to show off your Photos

I am a HUGE fan of photography…and of gallery walls!  I have been wanting to share this post for a while, and kept coming across great examples of how to show off your photos from your photo sessions.  I especially think this is a great way to show off your Lifestyle shoot images…these are like the images we take: not stuffy, candid, fun, lots of laugh shots!  I think these photos really pull fun memories from our minds.  I wanted to share some examples of what I mean when I say “gallery wall” and what better to show many examples than a quick screen image.  As you can see they can be large, small, color, black and white, mixed with art…just make it fun!

Here you can see how you can mix it up to best fit your style and taste.  Some like it clean, some eclectic, but for all different price ranges!  Another example that I pulled from a fun site online is for the folks who do not want to mess with trying to make everything straight.  Maybe you just want to spend the next 30 min. putting together your gallery wall and not the whole afternoon.  Please check out The Picture Wall Company for more information on how you can have a stress free, and amazing gallery wall!

I was just at Ikea a few weeks ago and they have the best selection of clean frames.  You can take this idea and make it your own DIY project for less!  Check out your local craft store for other options if you do not have an Ikea down the road.

Finally, here is our own little photo gallery wall!  I have added little info tags so you can see why those photos are important to us!  I confess to being human, and having an unfinished wall, but I really want important images hanging so I will live with empty spaces until just the right photos show up.  And, until I can commit to a date for OUR family session!  I think the family shot will look best in the middle big empty space…

For our wall, we had a really fortunate antique shop run and got most of these frames in one spot.  But, some came from other shops and other parts of my life.  The main idea is that you can make this whatever you want, and it is a great way to bring the photos from our sessions into your home.  If anyone has a great example of how they used their photos please share or send an image my way!  We would love to share your creative ways of displaying photos for others to get ideas!

The Curiosity of a Puppy, and the Wisdom of an old Dog

Meet our curious little hound mix pup, Mason.  He is the newest edition to our pack, and over the past month has really made a home for himself…I am not sure we could live without him now.  I was out in the yard this afternoon with these two just having the best time.  I am sure my neighbors thought I was crazy…I was in David’s boots, his large Mountain Hardware jacket, a scarf from Anthropologie, and my camera in hand.

*confession* I finally read up on how to do video on my camera, and wanted to get some practice, so this lead to our outdoor shoot.

Tess has had lots of camera time, so she just does what I say and takes one for the team.  But, Mason was not sure about this black clicking thing in his face (when I could get him to stand still).  Finally, he took an interest and I got some very puppy photos.  These are for all you dog lovers, and for me.  These two are my best buds!

While Mason was all over the place, playing games with the camera and barking at nothing, Tess was just laying by my side.  She kept a look out down the road and smelled the fall smells in the air.  She is steadfast in her love, and I love her so much.  We love our new buddy too.  And, now David is not out numbered in the house!  I pray Mason grows up to have the wisdom of Tess, and her heart for people too.

Bo & Bridget :: Engaged (part two)

Ahhh…these photos make me happy!  Our second half of the E:Session with Bo and Bridget we headed over to a park we love to visit in Marietta.  I was excited to see all the Fall color starting to come out!  We had a great time wandering the fields and hiking to new spots. We even had a visit by some little deer!  I loved watching Bo twirl Bridget in the sunset, and we enjoyed their ability to just be themselves!

We cannot wait to watch them twirl on the dance floor at their wedding!

Bo & Bridget :: Engaged (part one)

Bridget found her way to us through one of our lovely brides Whitney.  They both attended Furman University!  Bridget and her mom were so sweet to meet me at our favorite little coffee shop in Roswell, what seems like only yesterday, but really was a few months ago!  During our time together I had the “instant click” happen and knew that we would love to photograph their wedding! Lucky for us, she called me very soon to confirm that they did in fact want us there with them in January!

Fast forward to a little over a week ago…

We met up in Marietta Square for the E:Session and had the most fun!  David and I “freestyle” shoot.  We were very familiar with that area due to other sessions, but wanted to check out new spots and were very thankful Bo and Bridget were game.  For me, this first photo says it all…

(To view more of these images when they are released please sign our guestbook here: http://www.pictage.com/947457).

We got to see not one, but TWO trains…

This was just the first half!  Check back soon for our trip to the park…

To Bo and Bridget, you two are so fun.  I love how you laugh together, how you dance, and how easy it was to hang out with you.  I cannot wait for the wedding! Thank you, thank you!
