Harry & June :: Celebrating 50 years of marriage!

I had the most fun with Harry and June (and one of their daughters, Angela) last weekend.  This was one of the sessions that I had been highly anticipating because it was going to be something new.  I have done weddings, engagements, families, seniors, and pets.  I was blessed and felt so privileged to spend the afternoon with these two, and capture such a seasoned and lovely relationship.  I am just at the beginning of my marriage to David, but I certainly hope that after many years together we will be blessed enough to do a photo session like this one.  There is something so special about being able to look into each others eyes and see so many years of growth, love, and seasons together.

Harry found this great spot for us up in Acworth!  I love the southern sun in Fall, still wrapping us all with it’s warmth in all these images!  And, not to mention the amazing sunsets!

I hope to be blessed enough to photograph MANY more couples celebrating lots and lots of years together!  Thank you so much for being SO easy to work with, and so fun!  To view more images from this session when it is released please sign up here: www.pictage.com/946056

Cloud Nine

As I sit here, getting excited to show you the next few blog posts I have coming up, I am also busy getting some other work out the door.  I think often about next year…only a few months away, when this business will be my only business.  I have been doing ABJ sessions while working for the Governor for over a year.  Days like yesterday, going on some ridiculous road trip for a 30 min. program, seeing one of the top 5 oldest schools in our nation, getting to ride in the plane home, and laugh a lot with some great work friends.  It does not take much to look out the window and see I am blessed.  I am safe.  I am living a fantastic life.  I am doing what I love…even though I seem to forget that sometimes.

Life can be like a ride in a prop-plane.  A little rough on the way up.  But when you get to the top, most days, it is clear skies and downy soft clouds.  There will be bumps in the road, but hard work, training, and being willing to accept a helping hand will get you there safely.

Charles & Danielle Engaged :: Atlantic Station (part two)

During our second half of the night we headed over to the Atlantic Station area.  This was such a fun spot to shoot, and such a great place to show the city!  Great idea by Danielle!  As you will see it went from light, to twilight, to night really fast!  But, we think that we captured that pretty well, and it made for some dramatic images by the end of the night.

The Geisha House is very special to Charles and Danielle, this is where Charles proposed!  We knew that we needed to get some fun shots at this location first!

So sweet…and I am not talking about the candy!

By the time we reached this part of the shoot we were deep into twilight.  We love how the lights from the street and the buildings around us really created a soft and romantic light for us.

Ring shot!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for SUCH an amazing night!  You two are amazing, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you in July!!!!

Charles & Danielle :: Engaged! (part one)

David and I recently got to hang out with Charles and Danielle in the Buckhead/Mid-town area of  Atlanta.  After meeting with Danielle and her mom and speaking a few times on the phone, I was anxious to see her again AND meet Charles!  As we walked and talked we got to learn more about how they met.  It was fun to hear both perspectives…like how Charles still remembers what Danielle was wearing the first time he saw her!  Who cares if it was morning… and they were in the cafeteria at school, ha ha!  Danielle and Charles both attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville- Go Vols!  They share a great story of meeting, growing together, learning about themselves, and ultimately learning that they cannot live without each other.  We had a wonderful time with you too, and cannot wait to hang out on your wedding day!

Please enjoy the first half of our session at a park in Buckhead, images from our amazing second half will be coming very soon!  Those…you will not want to miss!
